Clearly, modern slavery is increasing worldwide. It includes human trafficking, slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
No form of modern slavery is acceptable to the parish council or people who work with us or on our behalf.
Neither is child labour.
No-one should be made to work against their will.
No-one should be deprived of their identity papers.
It is estimated that 40 million people globally are exploited and forced into work. As a result, they are frequently exposed to physical, psychological or sexual abuse.
The PC will only work with people who choose to work freely.
The PC respects the right to equal opportunity, freedom of association and collective bargaining.
Residents may rest assured that the parish council will endeavour to ensure that modern slavery isn’t taking place in any work that is outsourced.
